CHALLENGES AND POSSIBILITIES FOR THE INCLUSION OF STUDENTS WITHAUTISTIC SPECTRUM DISORDER – ASD IN PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNOLOGICALEDUCATION

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to identify the challenges and possibilities for the inclusion of students with ASD in Professional and Technological Education, based on studies and inquiries into possible barriers and actions that can contribute to the inclusion process. An inclusive school must be one that implies an educational system that recognizes and responds to individual differences, respecting the needs of all students. The teacher, like
other members of the school committed to quality education, must be requalifying their role as facilitators of the teaching learning process to identify educational needs and support students in their difficulties. The number of people diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder is growing, as is their presence in higher education. Regarding the methodology, the research
used based on a bibliographical review, has a qualitative research approach method, through the deductive approach method. The central questions of this study based on the lack of knowledge and depth of understanding of public education policies and the lack of investment on the part of the responsible institutions. In this bibliographic study, the need to promote the opportunity to clarify this government initiative and its impacts was perceived, which contribute significantly to further studies in the academic and scientific world.
